VESALIUS TRUST SCHOLARSHIP AND THESIS PRESENTATION AT AMI BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETING
March 1, 2014

Every once in a while, it's nice to get a little bit of positive reinforcement. Just a few weeks ago, I found out that I was named a 2014 Vesalian Scholar! This merit-based scholarship is awarded on the basis of thesis research proposals, and this scholarship level means that I ranked in the top 5 applicants. I wasn't sure quite what to expect from an email simply titled, "Your Scholarship Submission to the Vesalius Trust‏‎" - but the attachment was much more exciting.

This letter from the Vesalius Trust confirms my status as a 2014 Vesalian Scholar.

About a week later, the BMC faculty invited me to present this work to the AMI Board of Governors: an elected group of 18 leaders in the medical illustration field. This was exciting, but also nerve-wracking, because I only had a week to prepare. Maybe you can spot me below, eating pizza while waiting for the presentations to begin.

Eating pizza with some people who are a pretty big deal.

It's still a work in progress, but I showed them an abridged version of my preproduction animatic (with production shots mixed in, and I will add more as I go). And since you're already here, I'm going to share it with you, too! This is a moving version of my storyboard, with narration, to help me work out timing. The password is AMIBoG.
